In an effort to respect your time, no appointments with our dietitians are double-booked. Our office will send reminder calls and/or text messages to you. If you have to cancel your appointment, please call or text us at (732) 395-1282 or e-mail us at appointment@shsnutrition.com.
Virtual Visits
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, most major insurances are now covering virtual “nutritional counseling” visits. A virtual visit allows a patient to have the same experience they would have with a provider in the office but from the comfort of his own home. Since all insurances vary in their coverage during this time, be sure to call your insurance and ask about your coverage for “telemedicine” or “telehealth”.

Please select and complete the appropriate forms for you and bring them to your first appointment. Our HIPAA policy is below as well, but there is no need to bring this to your appointment.
Initial Visit
Your initial visit is an assessment where you and your dietitian will discuss your current eating habits, medical history, and goals. Afterwards, your dietitian will create a personalized plan of action that will match your lifestyle and needs while helping you achieve your goals. At SHS Nutrition, we believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental environment where you can learn about how the body works and change at your own pace.
Insurance
Since all insurance coverages vary, we recommend that you call your insurance company before your initial visit. You can ask for your benefits for “nutritional counseling”. If your insurance requires a referral to see a specialist, please get one from your primary care physician.
We accept most plans from the following insurances: Aetna, Aetna Better Health, Amerihealth, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, Meritain, QualCare, United Healthcare, United Healthcare Community Plan, United Healthcare Oxford
